Sunday, October 13th, the quilts made by the Kits and Quilts Group will be dedicated in our Sunday morning worship. People always enjoy the extra layer of soft fabric and the bright, cheery patterns on Quilt Sundays.
Thanks to all those who have packed kits and tied quilts. It has been a diverse crew of young and old alike.
LWR QUILT-LOADING
The Lutheran World Relief (LWR) Quilt-Loading is scheduled for Saturday, October 19, 2013. Starting a 8:00 am, donations of Quilts, School Kits, Sewing Kits, Personal Care Kits, Baby Kits, Soap and other items for LWR will be loaded on a semi-trailer. Churches from all over central Iowa will bring their donations to Resurrection Lutheran in Ankeny, where area Confirmation students will load them.
This fall, the Kits and Quilts group suggested a focus on School Kits. In the spring, the focus will be on Personal Care Kits. Last spring, Grand View sent 54 quilts. So far, the Kits and Quilts group are ahead of that number. The final tally will be made when the quilts are packed and sent off. They will be greatly appreciated!
